ABOUT GARY

From the UK to America

Recently retired, Gary is now bringing his experience to East Texas, singing all his favorite songs throughout his musical career.  From Steely Dan, the Eagles, Allman Brothers, Dire Straits, Eric Clapton, Santana, Tom Petty, Neil Diamond, Bellamy Brothers just to name a few.  Being a multi-instrumentalist he records and plays with his own backing tracks recorded in his studio.  His back ground dates back to the sixties when at the age of 12 started his first band with the whole band being an average age of 13.  They were called The Young Ones.  At the age of Fifteen he joined a more successful group named 'The Couriers'.  He again was the youngest and was playing rhythm guitar then transferring to bass for the next five years.  The band had just passed a gig audition to play the main dance/concert hall in the count of Kent named The Lease Cliff Hall.  Here they gained notoriety and became a regular opening act for the touring bands of the day.  These included, Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Status Quio, Uria Heap, The Tremeloes, The Searchers, Jimmy James, Freddy & The Dreamers, The love Affair plus many more over a five year period. In the early 80's he was invited to Houston Texas to record and perform at then the world famous GILLEY's Country night club, reported to be the largest in the world.  Sadly, the deal did not work out due to contractual and legal issues.

Moving on through to the mid/late 80's he joined and toured with several bands, the main UK Band was Live N' Kicking playing Disney Paris, Belgium' New York Cafe , The London Savoy, The Cafe Royal, the Lord Mare of London plus heaps of prestigious gig throughout the UK.  In the late 90's he decided to relocate to Florida where he me his wife and has now been married for 20 years.  In Orland he met up with a chap named Colin Findley when they formed a band called the Road Dawgs later changing their name to Think Big.  Again with a run of 14 years in this band, again they proved that they were a band to be reckoned with

playing almost every major hotel in Central Florida including several appearances at the Ritz Carlton for their New Years Eve Gala's.  Other  appearances include: Daytona Speedway Fan Zone,  Bally's Las Vegas,  The Opryland Hotel Nashville to name but a few.

After hearing that his Mother-In- Law had Dementia he and his wife relocated to East Texas.  Other than playing solo as mentioned before he now plays lead guitar and keyboards for the Don Woods Band who are signed with the Universal Music Group & SM1

Gary has two a new albums out:
